These materials are used to damp vibration before it is radiated as noise and before it is transmitted to other system components. Mostly used in a sandwich with plywood, but it could also be bonded with aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber. The acoustic sandwich panels are mostly used for floors and partitioning.
