Product catalog summary
Product Description
DrSails® is a two-component, fast-curing, flexible epoxy adhesive system designed to work under extreme conditions, including underwater. It forms a high-strength, flexible bond with a variety of materials.

Typical Applications
This adhesive is suitable for bonding metals, wood, composites, sailcloth, wetsuits, and plastics. It can be modified with fillers or diluted with acetone for laminating purposes.

Properties of Uncured Material
  • Resin: Bisphenol-A epoxy, off-white viscous liquid, density 1.17 g/ml, viscosity 26,500 cP.
  • Hardener: Modified Polyamine, yellowish viscous liquid, density 1.2 g/ml, viscosity 24,500 cP.
  • Mixture: Off-white viscous liquid, density 1.19 g/ml, mix ratio 1:1 by volume and weight.

Curing Performance
The adhesive has a working life of 8 minutes, becomes tack-free in 22 minutes, and fully cures in 24 hours. It performs optimally between -10°C and 50°C.

Properties of Cured Material
  • Tensile Strength: 28.8 MPa
  • Tensile Elongation: 23%
  • Hardness: Shore A 63
  • Flexural Strength: 4.5 MPa
  • Glass Transition Temperature: 8 to 18°C

Performance of Cured Material
Shear strength varies with substrate, with notable performance on materials like stainless steel (8.2 N/mm²) and CFR epoxy matrix (20.1 N/mm²).

Environmental Resistance
The adhesive maintains strength under hot, saline fog, and UV exposure conditions, with specific test procedures outlined for each.

Directions for Use
Surface preparation is crucial for high-strength bonds. The adhesive can be applied using syringes, coaxial cartridges, or bulk containers, with specific instructions for each method. Maximum bond strength is achieved with a 0.2 to 0.5mm gap.

Regulatory Notice
The product is regulated by European Community Regulation No 1907/2006 and requires a license for export. Users should consult the Material Safety Data Sheet for safe handling.

General Information
Data provided are typical values and should be verified by users for specific applications. Sailing Technologies disclaims warranties and liabilities for the product's use.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place between 8°C and 28°C. The shelf life is 36 months under these conditions.
