General Surface Support Buoys

Product catalog summary
Overview of General Surface Support Buoys
General surface support buoys are primarily used in single-point mooring (SPM) systems. They are constructed with a resilient closed cell polyethylene/EVA foam core, which is surrounded by internal steelwork and covered with a polyurethane (PU) outer skin. This design ensures that the buoys are self-fendering and unsinkable, even if damaged.

Construction and Materials
The foam core is designed to prevent water absorption, enhancing the buoy's lifespan and reducing maintenance costs. The PU skin is applied using a spray technique, providing high resistance to abrasion, fatigue, and UV degradation. For extreme conditions, the PU skin can be reinforced with polyester material.

Features and Advantages
  • Un-sinkable closed cell rigid foam core
  • PU protective outer skin
  • High impact absorption capacity
  • Various end fitting options
  • Polyester reinforced skin for enhanced performance
  • Internal steel core for support and balance
  • Available in multiple colors for easy identification
  • Customizable sizes and shapes

Types of Buoys
Cylindrical Buoys: These buoys vary in size and buoyancy, with models ranging from CUB-1000 to CUB-3900. They have different lengths, diameters, weights, and net buoyancies.

Chain Through Buoys: These buoys, such as CTB-1500 to CTB-4500, are designed with specific dimensions and buoyancies to suit various applications.

Pick Up Buoys: Models like PUB-90 to PUB-800 offer different sizes and buoyancies, catering to specific needs.

General Surface Support Buoys-1

The resilient closed cell polyethylene/EVA foam core guarantees selffendering and unsinkable even in case of damage. General surface buoys are constructed by resilient closed cell polyethylene /EVA foam around the inner central steelwork, covered by polyurethane (PU) outer kin. General surface support buoys are extensively used in single-point mooring (SPM) systems. General surface support buoys have a flotation core manufactured from resilient closed cell polyethylene or EVA foam around internal steelwork. The closed foam ensure the buoy will not absorb water even if the skin is punctured, increasing the life-span of the product and reducing maintenance costs. The resilient foam core makes the buoys self-fendering with a high impact absorption capacity. The foam core is encapsulated within a skin of tough, abrasion resistant polyurethane elastomer applied by our well proven spray technique. The polyurethane elastomer skin is high resistance to abrasion, fatigue and ultra-violet degradation together with excellent resilience. It does not attract marine growth. For extreme operating conditions, the PU skin can be reinforced by polyester material during the spray process as reinforcement to add further strength. Advantages & Features Un-skinable closed cell rigid foam core PU Protective outer skin Self-fendering with high impact absorption capacity PU Various end fitting options available Polyester reinforced skin with better performance Internal steel core for better support and balance Various color for choose Customozied size and shape available The self colored skin can be supplied in orange, yellow, red, black, naval grey for easy of identification.
