Specifications:
ROTAN® PD pumps are designed for refinery and petrochemical applications, with all pressure-containing components made of carbon steel. They comply with API 676 2nd edition standards, with minor exceptions. The pumps are available in 90° angular configurations and have a capacity range of up to 250 m³/h (1100 gpm) and a speed of up to 1750 rpm. They can handle differential pressures up to 16 bar (232 psi) and suction lifts up to 0.8 bar (11.6 psi) vacuum while pumping. The viscosity range is up to 250,000 cSt, and they can operate at temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). These pumps are suitable for pumping various hydrocarbon-based fluids, including fuel, oil, gasoline, lube oil, grease, additives, bitumen, polystyrene, and wax.

Design and Standards:
The design pressure is according to ANSI 300 Lbs or Pn40. The pumps meet API 676 2nd Edition standards with a few exceptions. The capacity range for these pumps is up to 170 m³/h (748 gpm).

Selection of Pump Size:
To select the appropriate pump size, determine the capacity and viscosity. Start at the top of the selection table with the viscosity and draw a line down within the selected viscosity range. Then, draw a horizontal line from the required capacity. The intersection of these lines determines the pump size, indicated by diagonal lines in the table. If the intersection does not align with a pump line, increase the capacity slightly. The speed is found vertically below the intersection point. Maximum speed is indicated by a small black dot and should be reduced by 50% for strongly abrasive liquids or emulsions.

Shaft Power Calculation:
When the differential pressure is known, shaft power is calculated using the formula: E(KW) = 0.07 x flow (m³/h) x differential pressure (bar). Increase the requested shaft power by up to 35% for small ROTAN® pumps with high viscosity (over 10,000 cSt) and decrease by up to 35% for large ROTAN® pumps with low viscosity (under 500 cSt).
