Derecktor 82m Coast Guard Cutter Cutters for the United States Coast Guard U.S. Coast Guard Cutter – The Famous Class The Seneca was one of nine 82 Meter U.S. Coast Guard cutters built by Derecktor Shipyards between the years 1981 and 1990. The so-called “Famous Class” cutters were designed for multi-mission tasks in law enforcement, search and rescue, marine environmental protection and military preparedness. The cutters feature sensors to detect, track and identify vessels at long range and have a flight deck for a helicopter, thus increasing the vessel’s range and versatility. The Famous Class replaced thirteen World War II and pre-World War II cutters. DERECKTOR SHIPYARDS Since 1947 www.derecktor.com Bridgeport, Ct – Mamaroneck, NY – Dania, FL
