Ellipse II - 1

Congratulations with Your “Ellipse II” Oil Lamp Design: Jan Landqvist 1980 The Ellipse table lamp has been produced since the beginning of the 1980ies. In 2008 we proudly introduced the Ellipse II, our new version. The appearance is different: The lamp is now equipped with an opalescent (white) triplex glass shade giving an improved light dispersion and, indeed, a cosy gleam. Triplex glass is a 3-layer glass type, white glass on the surface, clear glass in the middle and white glass back on the inside. Functionally the lamp has also been improved: • A separate chimney giving improved light emission and combustion, • Filling her up with lamp oil has become much easier, • A rubber ring in the bottom secures a non-skid stand. All metal parts in the lamp are made of brass. Lamp body parts are made of cast brass, polished and lacquered. You should not polish the lamp, just wipe it with a soft cotton cloth like a tea towel. Technical Data: The ellipse shaped lamp-base contains approx. 200ml. Diameter of lamp base is ø100 mm. 6’’’ circular burner. Burning time approx. 11 hours. Height 230 mm. Weight 1,35 kg. Lamp shade order no.: 650351 Chimney order no.: 1401 Wick: order no.: 101535 Jan-Olof Landqvist, born 1940, is a very experienced and active designer living in Gustavsberg, Sweden. Filling her up with lamp oil. Fill up to approx. 2 cm from edge. Lighting the lamp. Let the dry wick soak for half an hour before lighting the lamp. Adjust flame height first time. Make sure the wick has the same height all the way round the circular burner’s top edge. If not you must trim it with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife. A straight wick edge is essential for a uniform flame! Enjoy the cosy light! You put out the oil lamp by blowing out the flame. Blow on the slant into the top of the chimney.
