ANCHOR WINDLASSES How to choose a windlass? There are a few criteria to be considered when choosing an anchor windlass. According to class rules, an equipment number (EN) is calculated taking into account size and wind area of the vessel. Suitable chain size, anchor size and mooring equipments are selected from the tables of EN.
