Brochure « Suspentes pour Parapente » - 1

It is important to follow advice from the paraglider manufacturer. This will cover conditions of use and their recommendations for taking care of the equipment when storing and carrying out maintenance. All our suspension lines go through a thermo-mechanical stabilisation process in production. This achieves full-stability in the cord. Given that elongation under load is negligible, this operation is also a load test. 2 RESISTANCE The design of our suspension lines includes the best fibres available on the market, such as high modulus Technora®, Dyneema® SK75, SK78 and also SK90. The performance of the fibres is increased once they have been through our material treatment department. SAFETY All our suspension line manufacturing is controlled and traceable. Cousin Trestec meets the strictest standards and complies with the ISO 9001 norm. Our quality department is able to check all the technical parameters and mechanical standards, such as resistance/breaking strength, stretch and abrasion, in line with the protocols set by the DHV. CHOICE Cousin Trestec offers a full range of suspension lines covering all the diameters, breaking strengths and construction features: A paraglider is equipped with almost 400 meters of suspension lines. It is recommended that regular maintenance and inspection is carried out by a certified professional workshop. They will run through a “simple” check of your canopy or a “full” check if there is any question regarding the suspension lines, the stitches or any part of the canopy itself. The fabrics used in the making of the canopy and general use will affect the lifetime of the suspension lines. Lifetime of a suspension line is hard to forecast as too many factors need to be considered, like the amount of care given to storage, the intensity of use, the type of canopy... The practice of competitive flying requires a particular attention to the suspension network and regular renewal is recommended for thin diameter and lower lines. It is recommended to give the suspension lines for inspection by a certified professional at least yearly or after every 100 hours airtime. This gives a good safety margin and will help minimise the already low number of accidents for a sport still categorised as “risky”. • Technora® core for users who focus on ultimate stability. • Dyneema® core for extended life-time of the line. • Competitive sport range for extreme achievement. 5 PHOTO COURTESY: ©Cousin Trestec • Anthony&Timothy Green • Urs Lotscher • Fernando Pradi • Shutterstock • DESIGN: PIoIM • Non liable document subject to errors or omissions • UNIQUE FEATURES OF OUR SUSPENSION LINES SION LINES SUSPEN LIDERS FOR PARAG Cousin Trestec makes extensive use of the best high performance fibres available such as Dyneema®, Technora® and VectranTM for producing ropes for many markets: kitesurf, yachting, parachuting, industrial applications… The significant volumes we achieve through this give us good purchasing power with the suppliers and we can negotiate some of the best prices for raw materials.
