TECHNICAL DATA SHEET PRIMEPOX 7030 GENERIC TYPE TYPE : BONDING PRIMER FOR POLYESTER, COMPOSITES & ALUMINIUM : TWO-PACK EPOXY-POLYAMIDE DESCRIPTION: PRIMEPOX 7030 is a polyester and composite materials primer which enables, after cleaning and degreasing, the application - without sanding - of antifouling paints and lacquer finishes. PRIMEPOX 7030 is also an excellent aluminium primer after sandblasting or chemical stripping. CLASSIFICATION: AFNOR NF T.36.005 - Family I - Class 6b PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: once mixed Density at 20 °C : 1.5 + 0.05 Viscosity 4 at 20 °C : 50 " + 2 Solids : 64% + 2% Mix pot life : 8 hours at 20 °C Flash point : > 23 °C Colour : Light grey (RAL 7035) Finish : Matt Mixing by volume : 70 parts base, 30 parts hardener Mixing by weight : 100 parts base, 27 parts hardener SURFACE PREPARATION: Remove dirt and grease with acetone or trichloroethylene, especially when working with a new gelcoat with wax marks and mould removal agents. Room temperature, as well as the paint support and product temperature, must be higher than 10°C during the application and the polymerisation process. Hygrometry must be lower than 80% RH. Apply at least at 3°C above dew point. PAINT PREPARATION: Mix the base and hardener separately before mixing them together. If thinning is used for spraying purposes, only add the EPOXY THINNER once the base and hardener have been mixed. Let the mix settle for 15-20 minutes before use. APPLICATION: PRIMEPOX 7030 applies readily in one coat by brush, spray or roller Thinning : EPOXY THINNER : Brush & Roller : 5 % Spray : 5-10 % Recommended thickness per coat : 80 microns wet (40 microns dry) Drying time at 20°C : Surface dry : 30 minutes To touch : 4 hours Recoat : 6 hours for an antifouling 24 hours for epoxy or polyurethane paints. (sanding needed after 36 hours) Coverage : Theoretical : 12 m²/1 Practical : 8 m²/1 Temperature range : Min. 10°C - max. 30°C PACKING AND SHELF-LIFE: Available in: Shelf-life: Packs of 1 and 4 litres. 12 months unopened and stored in a dry place.
