TECHNICAL DATA SHEET PLASTIPRIM’O GENERIC TYPE : UNIVERSAL PRIMER TYPE : SINGLE-PACK WATER-BASED ALKYD URETHANE DESCRIPTION: A new generation of environmentally-friendly marine paints, PLASTIPRIM’O is a singlepack water-based alkyd-urethane primer, applicable onto all types of paint supports (wood, steel, polyester, aluminium, etc.) in 1 to 2 coats, designed for the painting of all types of single-pack finishes and antifoulings. CLASSIFICATION: NFT 30.005 / Family I, Class 4a PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: Resin binder Density at 20°C Viscosity at 20°C Solids Flash point Colour Finish : Water-based alkyd-urethane : 1,26 : Thixotrope : 53% + 2% : Not applicable : Pearl grey : Matt-silk SURFACE PREPARATION: PLASTIPRIM’O must be applied to a clean and dry surface. Previous coats of paint should be lightly sanded to enable adhesion. Polyester: a light sanding of the polyester is recommended. On new polyester, remove wax mould marks with our DILUANT DECIRANT, then sand. Steel: steel brush or sandblast the surface to remove rust. Aluminium: chemical abrasion followed by freshwater rinsing is necessary to enable adhesion. Wood: thin to 10% for first coat. PAINT PREPARATION: Mix well before use. APPLICATION: PLASTIPRIM’O can be applied readily by spray, brush or roller. Thinning : Brush / roller : read-to-use Spray : 10 to 20% fresh water Recommended thickness / coat : 80 microns wet (40 microns dry). Drying time at 20 °C : Surface dry : 30 minutes To touch : 1 hour Recoat : 12 hours Coverage : 10 to 12 m²/l Cleaning solvent : Water Temperature range : Min. 5°C - max. 35°C PACKING AND SHELF-LIFE: Available in: Shelf-life: 0.750 litres, 3 litres and 15 litres excellent shelf-life when unopened and stored in a dry place.
