WHITE HANDFLARE d at as heet The White Handflare is for use as a collision warning signal or for illumination of small areas. Designed to withstand exceptional environmental exposure and to perform reliably even after immersion in water. Featuring a unique telescopic handle with improved grip, making it very compact for stowage. Easily extended for safe handling and operation by pull wire ignitor. Produces hot white flame for 60 seconds at 2,500 candela. 3 Application For use by day or night as a short-range collision warning signal, to pinpoint position and to illuminate small areas at night. These may be carried on the ship’s bridge and are recommended for yachts making night passages. Four white handflares are included in our RORC kits. Also available is the similar red handflare (Art No. 9162800), which is used to signal distress. 3 Storage The telescopic handle saves stowage space. Ideally, both red and white handflares should be stored in our robust, specially designed polybottles, or in a dry, easily accessed location at ambient temperature.
