LED lighting is used Air conditioning is available as an optional extra. This is the design specification for a Cockwell's Nelson 40' Motor Launch designed by Arthur Mursell of TT Boat Designs Ltd. The vessel is a high quality, comfortable cruising boat with a bespoke interior to the client's requirements. It will be certified as category C under the EU Recreational Craft Directive (with category B as an optional extra). It will have an approximate top speed of 24 knots with a comfortable cruising speed of 16 knots and give a range of around 250 nautical miles. Length Overall Length Waterline Design Draft The vessel will be arranged as outlined in the general arrangement drawings (see over leaf). The launch will built by the strip planking method using cedar over CNC cut frames and bulkheads. The hull will be sheathed inside and out with glass fibre fabric impregnated with epoxy resin. Externally finished with a blue two part paint system (other colours or varnished wood available as an optional Deckhouse is solid teak joinery with toughened glass windows and stainless steel trim. The deck is a fully swept teak with a sub-layer constructed of 12mm marine ply sheathed with epoxy offering increased structural integrity. 2.1 Main engines and stern gear Twin diesel Volvo D4 225hp Marine engines, fresh- water cooled, shaft drive, 4 blade bronze propellers. Hydraulic wheel steering with twin bronze rudders. (Note that engine choice can be varied to suit the client.) Twin 450 litre fuel tanks. A bow thruster is available as an optional extra. A luxuriously appointed fore cabin with two berths. Equipped with hanging space and storage over and under berths. However this arrangement can be tailored to suit the client's exact requirements. Heads compartment with a shower, hand basin feed by the pressurised water system and an electric head. Fully equipped galley with cooker, sink, microwave and fridge. Dinette opposite which converts into a double berth. Light and airy, well appointed saloon with comfortable seating for six. The saloon also provides optional sleeping area for two guests (giving a total of 6 berths). 12 volt, gel type batteries charged by engine or shore power, inverter to supply 240 volts a/c, and an intelligent battery charging system. A generator or fuel cell is available as an optional extra. The basic package will cover compass, speed log, echo sounder, VHF, GPS, autopilot, and navigation lights. However, this can be tailored to suit the client's needs. All deck fittings are of chromed bronze or 316 stainless steel.
