Propeller Shaft Support Brackets

Propeller Shaft Support Brackets

Product catalog summary
Overview: Clements Marine offers a variety of propeller shaft support brackets, including glass-in and palm-type 'P' brackets, suitable for power craft and sailing auxiliaries. Custom designs are available using adaptable tooling for precise machining.
Materials: Brackets for sea-going vessels are typically cast from BS1400 nickel aluminium bronze or BS1400 HTB1 high tensile brass. Alternatively, they can be fabricated from mild steel or 316 stainless steel. All brackets come with high-specification water-lubricated rubber cutless bearings.
Types of Brackets:
  • Platform Type (angled): Cast in manganese or aluminium bronze, fitted with a water-lubricated cutless bearing.
  • Glass-in Type: Designed for internal bonding through GRP hulls, allowing infinite adjustment during installation, and fitted with a water-lubricated cutless bearing.
  • Platform Type (vertical): Similar to the angled type, cast in manganese or aluminium bronze.
  • Fabricated Brackets: Made to order in steel or stainless steel, featuring composite material shelled cutless bearings to prevent dissimilar metal reactions.
Customization and Standards: Brackets are available in imperial or metric sizes. Shaft bearing designs can be submitted using TD12 and TD05, or by consulting technical staff. Large 'A' brackets are produced for major sailing vessels. All brackets can be manufactured to order under Lloyds Register, Norske Veritas, or ABS survey.
