Clamcleat rope cleats

Product catalog summary
Company History: Clamcleats Limited, established in 1964, is a family-run business known for inventing a new type of rope cleat. Initially, they developed a cleat from Perspex, which later evolved into the first nylon cleat. The company emphasizes quality and customer service, with all manufacturing processes conducted in-house.
Product Specifications: Clamcleats offers cleats made from marine-grade nylon and aluminium. Nylon cleats are cost-effective and corrosion-resistant, suitable for moderate loads. Aluminium cleats are designed for high loads and temperatures, providing superior performance and durability, especially with a hard anodised finish.
Cleat Functionality: The cleats feature a ridged 'V' groove design that securely holds ropes without moving parts, allowing easy release by pulling the rope upwards and backwards. Proper tensioning of the rope before it enters the cleat is crucial to prevent damage, particularly with nylon cleats.
Product Range: The catalogue includes various cleats such as the CL244/L Aluminium Insert Cleat, CL247 Compact Twin Sheave Cleat, and CL257 Auto-Release Racing Mini. Each product is tailored for specific applications, with detailed information on materials, dimensions, and suitable rope sizes.
Installation and Usage: Cleats come with countersunk fixing holes for secure installation. Detailed installation drawings and instructions are available for download. Clamcleat products are not suitable for metal ropes.
Additional Services: Clamcleats provides custom manufacturing services, including special designs and adaptations of existing products, and is open to discussing new ideas and applications with customers.
Product Overview: The document details various cleats and bollards used in marine and industrial applications, such as aluminium fishing boats, oil rigs, dinghies, yachts, and non-marine uses like tensioning volleyball nets and large umbrellas.
Specifications: The catalogue lists several cleat models, including CL804, CL206, CL207, CL202, CL219VB, CL239, CL240, CL205, CL220, CL220VB, CL2245, CL805, CL208, and CL210, with descriptions of dimensions, material composition, and suitable rope diameters.
Applications: Cleats are designed for easy welding to aluminium surfaces, offering a cost-effective alternative to drilling and bolting, suitable for marine vessels and industrial settings. The document highlights their versatility in both marine and non-marine environments.
Accessories and Kits: Starter kits (CL820, CL821, CL822) for dinghies, windsurfing, and yachts include demonstration models. Display panels or stickers are suggested for retail promotion.
Additional Resources: Readers are directed to the Clamcleats website for more information on marine applications and a separate site for details on manufacturing facilities and services.

Most cleats are provided with countersunk fixing holes. Countersunk head screws or bolts of the recommended size should be used; bolts being preferred. If using rivets with a powered fixing gun, make sure the pressure is not set too high. Fastenings must be entered straight so that the heads do not protrude to snag the rope. Several of the cleats have been designed with a groove in the base enabling them to be fitted to both flat and curved surfaces. Clamcleat® rope cleats are not suitable for metal ropes.
