Trouve LENGTH 18'7“ | BEAM 6'5“ | DRAFT 19“ • 2,400 POUNDS For over 25 years, Budsin has been building some of the finest electric boats available. Our boats are crafted one at a time by people who love their job. They range in size from 15 to 22 feet and their virtually silent operation provides hours of running time, with top speeds of five to seven knots. ‘Refueling' is as simple as plugging in a cord. OUR WAITING LIST IS OFTEN LONG. TO FIND OUT WHY, PLEASE CHECK US OUT. In 2015 Budsin reintroduced our 18'7" Trouve. The name fittingly honors Gustav Trouve, the French inventor who built the first electric powered boat in 1881. These boats were originally designed to be quiet and pollution-free water taxis (bottom left) but for more conventional pleasure boat use we incorporated a horseshoeshaped forward seat (middle left) into the cockpit and implemented the practical side-mount tiller steering used on our other models. The Trouve comfortably seats up to eight adults on Sunbrella® marine fabric cushions. The optional canopy features retractable boarding hatches to make entry and exit a breeze. The Trouve features a hand laid fiberglass hull with molded-in sheer planks, which is a departure from our other wooden hulled models. The large battery bank is housed in a boxed keel under the floor, making for a very stable and smooth ride even in choppy water conditions, and allows the boat to be safely beached, adding to the boat's versatility. The interior seats and trim are crafted in exquisitely finished mahogany while the decks are available in a variety of materials ranging from easy-to-maintain fiberglass to highly varnished mahogany (shown).
