They can also be used to mark underwater objects, vehicles, divers or work sites. The high intensity Xenon gas discharge lamp has a maximum power rating of 0.3 watt seconds and can be seen from up to 4 miles away, depending upon atmospheric and wave conditions, observer's height, and frequency setting of the strobe. Underwater viewing distances vary, depending upon the water The ST6K is available in several different configurations, with a choice of on/off switches, housing sizes and remote flash heads. The strobes are battery powered as standard with the option of 12- 24Vdc input in the short housing. Underwater Emergency Xenon Strobe HOUSING Long and short housing options are available. The long housing incorporates the electronics and 4 C cell alkaline 1.5V batteries. The short housing incorporates the electronics and 2 C cell Lithium 3.6V batteries. (Battery life is reduced by approximately 10% with the short housing.) REMOTE HEAD A remote head option is available, where the xenon tube with its acrylic housing, is separated from the main housing by a 1 metre cable assembly.
