Fuel Consumption based on theoretical propeller loading - matched at full speed Standard Specification This engine has been developed by Beta Marine to satisfy the demands of the discerning tug boat owner, who is looking for a high torque / low speed engine with traditional characteristics. The JD3 engine operates over a speed range from 450 to 1200 rev/min delivering a massive 180 Nm torque at 1200 rev/min. Based upon the John Deere 3 cylinder engine it incorporates a special fuelling system and other modifications which, when combined with our high quality finish, polished copper and gunmetal rocker cover, make this Beta Marine JD3 - 3 cylinder, naturally aspirated diesel propulsion engine developing 30 bhp at 1,200 rpm with a swept volume of 2900 cc (Recreational Craft Directive emission compliant). The traditional heavy duty canal boat "tug" type engine is supplied complete with separate keel cooled header tank and filler, calorifier connections, "bright" brass work and copper pipes, brass oil pressure gauge, special slow speed running fuel pump and injection system, heavy flywheel, special polished gunmetal rocker cover, heavy duty rails, cyclopac air intake silencer, 2" BSP vertical dry exhaust outlet with flexible exhaust section, oil filter, mechanical fuel lift pump with hand primer, sump pump, 12v starter, high output 70 amp battery charging alternator with special large crankshaft pulley. "AB" type instrument panel with tachometer, hour recorder, keystart switch, red warning lights and alarm buzzer for low oil pressure, high water temperature and no charge, 3m extension loom with connector. PRM 260 hydraulic gearbox with 1.96:1 reduction, special 2 stage damper drive member to eliminate low speed gear chatter. Engine and gearbox oil coolers, morse type end fittings, operators instruction manual and works test certificate, green paint. • Deluxe "C" Control panel • Second 12 volt alternator - 100 amp. • Travel Power 3.5 kVA - 230 Volt. • See price list for a comprehensive range of accessories to cover a complete engine installation.
