bCores® QX - 1

Product Data Sheet bCores® QX Product description bCores® QX is a structural core suitable for composite applications. The core is made of balsa plywood orientated in 4 different directions (quadri-axial), which significantly improves mechanical properties, especially shear properties in length direction. The balsa plywood ensures an exceptionally high compression strength and stiffness with good bending properties of the core. Core construction Wood type: FSC certified BANOVA® balsa plywood Dimensions L: 1900 x 140 x 15 mm M: 1900 x 120 x 15 mm Density of 240 kg/m3 Machining guidelines • QX cores can be processed with high-speed wood working machine. • Best results for shaping QX cores are obtained with belt sanding machine. • For contour milling, climb milling has to be preferred to conventional milling. * All these values are average values for the complete core. As the high-density balsa is mainly on the sides, it is mostly removed in the center of the ski when the sidecut is machined. Thus the actual density of the core in final shape will be in the range between 225-235 kg/mF. After machining, cutting dust has to be carefully removed with vacuum cleaning equipment.
