Product catalog summary
Features & Uses: AWLFAIR L.W. FAST CURE is a high-quality trowelable epoxy compound designed for fairing and smoothing surface imperfections. It offers a smooth finish and easy sanding, suitable for both manual and automatic mixing, and can be used above or below the waterline.
Specification Data: This is a two-component epoxy with a white base and red converter, turning pink when mixed. Available in 1 quart and 2-gallon containers, it offers theoretical coverage of 1,463 sq. feet per gallon at one mil dry. Recommended wet film thickness is 250 mils per coat, with a maximum of 400 mils. Cure time at 75°F is 7 hours for foot resistance and 7 days for full cure. It must be sanded before recoating and overcoated with an epoxy primer to prevent print-through.
Mixing and Reduction: Mix in a 1:1 volume ratio (1.56:1 by weight) to achieve a uniform pink color. No induction time is required, and pot life varies with temperature, from 80 minutes at 55°F to 15-20 minutes at 95°F. Do not add thinners or reducers.
Application Instructions: Ensure the surface is properly primed. Apply with a trowel, working in small areas due to limited pot life. Multiple applications may be needed for large areas. Sand with 36 to 60 grit paper between applications. Seal with Hullgard Epoxy Primer below the waterline and an Awlgrip Epoxy Primer above the waterline.
Warnings: Mix thoroughly with the curing agent. Do not use outside the temperature range of 13°C/55°F to 40°C/104°F. Avoid low temperatures with high humidity. Do not thin or use non-Awlgrip products as additives.
Important: For industrial use only by trained professionals. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for health and safety information.
