PRODUCT DATA SHEET AWLBRITRE CLEAR ACRYLIC URETHANE J3005/J3006 Features & Uses Awlbrite Clear is a buffable, high build, three component clear urethane used as topcoat for the Ultimate Brightwork System. Awlbrite Clear provides a far more durable finish than varnish alone, is faster curing and as easy to apply. Do not use below the waterline. Do not apply Awlbrite Clear directly to bare wood Specification Data Type: Three Component Acrylic Urethane Color: Clear Packaging: Quarts and Pints Theoretical Coverage: Sq. Feet/Gallon; 930 Sq. Feet (86m 2) at 1 mil dry (25 microns); 2 93 Sq. Feet (8.6m ) at recommended dry film thickness of 10 coats. Coverage calculations are based on theoretical transfer efficiency of 100%. Actual coverage rate obtained will vary according to equipment choice, application techniques, part size, and application environment. Recommended Wet Film Thickness: 2.0-2.5 mils (50-62 microns) per coat. Recommended Dry Film Thickness: 1.0-1.2 mils (25-30 microns) per coat. Anticipated Cure Time at 77°F (25°C) /50% R.H: 3 hours to recoat; 12 hours to light service; 7 days for full cure. Recoatability: With itself: 3 hours minimum, 36 hours maximum without sanding or scuffing. VOC: Base (J3005) – 372 g/lt or 3.1 lbs/gallon Converter (J3006) – 146 g/lt or 1.2 lbs/gallon Product Components, Reducers, Additives, and Auxiliary Components Siphon or Cup Gun System Binks or equivalent Spray Gun: #95 Fluid Nozzle: #66SS (.070” Orifice Size) Fluid Needle: #665 Air Nozzle: #65SK Atomizing air pressure should be approximately 50 to 60 lbs. High Volume Low Pressure System Binks MACH 1 or equivalent pressure pot For use with all Awlgrip Topcoats and low viscosity primers. Warning: Wood should have no more than 15% moisture content. New / Bare Wood: Awlbrite Clear should only be applied over properly prepared Awlspar (M3131) as part of the Ultimate Brightwork System. Do not apply Awlbrite Clear directly to bare wood. Old Finishes: Old finishes in good condition should be washed with Awlprep Surface Cleaner, then sanded with 220-320 grit paper to remove the gloss.
