Atlantics are cruisers for sailors who do not wish to be restricted to a particular cruising area. Drying out somewhere in Brittany, exploring the South-West coast of Ireland and perhaps sailing on to Iceland or the Azores, the only limit is your imagination. Generous boats with a warm, comfortable interior and a deck lay-out attuned to the cruising sailor who seeks performance, combined with ease of handling. All Atlantics have variable draft. The 36ZK, 38ZK and 42ZK are built with a swinging keel, the 43HK, 48HK and 51HK have a lifting keel. The swinging keel gives more flexibility in the...

The versatility of Atlantics is demonstrated by its owners. Atlantics of all sizes crossed oceans, cruised the Caribbean, the Azores, the Med and most European coasts, including the tidal shallows of the British East coast and the Dutch and German sands. Mooring in Porto on the Douro river close to the Dom Luiz bridge or in a remote corner of a small Frisian lake? Atlantics do this by pulling the keel up. One can sail from one shore power point to the next one or sail to explore the seas and shores of the world. Atlantics are designed and built for the adventure beyond the marina.

B U I LT- I N C O M F O R T A fit, well-fed and warm crew is a happy crew who enjoy their sailing, hence no horizon is too far! The Atlantics are imbued with comfort, exactly for those moments when required the most: at sea. Real comfort is not defined by built-in contrivances, it is more a question of ergonomics: sitting, working and resting while underway should be comfortable. The fixed, low sprayhood is a ‘halfway house’ between the outside world and the warmth below decks. Sheltered from the weather, whilst maintaining contact with the helmsman. Here is where you change into and out of...

Each Atlantic interior is custom-built and reflects the discerning taste of the owner. It can be either classic or contemporary. The interior can - with our advice - be tailored to your requirements. A couple who wish to make long blue water crossings, will require a totally different interior, than a family with children making day trips most of the time. The photos of two 42ZK interiors - left - and two 43HK interiors right - and the illustration depict what is possible: a swinging or lifting keel result in different in lay-outs. Within the parameters of the fixed bulkheads and the...

43HK M The first impression of a boat is determined by its paintwork, however, beauty is not only skin deep. The excellent paintwork also protects the exterior and interior. Irrespective of your choice of wood, be it teak, mahogany, dark cherrywood, or lightly tinted ashwood, the quality of the joinery is always exemplary. Soft furnishings may be textile, Alcantara or leather.

DURABILITY Each Atlantic is a sturdy, safe floating home and a reliable investment. The craftsmanship required to achieve the build quality is readily apparent and adds to the pleasures of sailing. The solid aluminium construction and the extensive preservation and insulation are the recipe for longevity. The installation of deck fittings, engine, hydraulic and electrical systems are undertaken with the greatest care, resulting in trouble-free operation, even under adverse circumstances. The excellence of the paintwork also ensures longevity and engenders pride of ownership. Each Atlantic...

Atlantics can be delivered with various rigs. The benefits of the classic cutter rig with yankee and staysail start as soon as the sheets can be eased. A modern sloop rig is also possible with a barely overlapping high aspect ratio jib and shroudplates on top of the hull. The close-hauled performance is somewhat better and tacking takes less effort. Broad reaching and in light airs, a ‘code zero’ can be set from the bowsprit. When running a gennaker or spinnaker adds power. Displacement, sail areas and engine power, are all ‘plus-minus’ since all Atlantics are custom-built. AT L A N T I C 5...

The tidal estuaries with strong currents between the Frisian islands and the coast, the often rough passages to open water and the Northsea itself, are ‘proving grounds’ for the Atlantics. Furthermore we listen to owners returning from extensive cruises. Their experiences often lead to improvements in the design and various installations. This explains why every Atlantic can be considered as a special.
