EXTERNAL MAINSAIL FURLER When installing an external mainsail furler, you do not have to replace the existing mast and boom. The equipment is designed and built in order to adapt to any structure (the system may be installed on both aluminium and wooden masts). The external foils to be fitted to the mast are 2.5 m long (6 m for type E) and have an integrated groove that may be used to hoist a traditional mainsail in case of emergency.
