2. Installation Procedures

• Opening the Winch: Remove circlip, steel cap, screws, plastic cap, and half rings to extract the drum.
• Fixing the Skirt: Drill a 140 mm diameter hole in the deck for motor passage; fix the skirt with six 6x10 mm anchoring screws (not supplied); seal screw holes and skirt-deck joint with silicone.
• Assembly: Reassemble components in reverse order; ensure drainage holes on the skirt face the correct direction.
• Electrical Connections: Two switches required for two-speed control (red for 1st speed, grey for 2nd speed); switches protected by watertight diaphragm but require sealant around wire entry points.

3. Operation

• Manual Use: Insert handle to disconnect speed reducer-motor unit, preventing accidental motor start from turning the handle and reducing friction.
• Hydraulic Use: Two speeds selectable via control buttons; speed choice important for maneuver efficiency—fast recovery initially, precise control at final stage.
• Power and Speed Relationship: Winch speed proportional to hydraulic flow; load proportional to pressure; expect up to 30% speed reduction under maximum load.

4. Maintenance

• Lubrication: Use Type 400 (green) Teflon grease for all moving parts including pawls, gears, spindles, shaft bearings, washers, and screws to prevent corrosion and wear.
• Cleaning: Regular cleaning recommended to maintain performance and longevity.
• Pawls and Gear Mounting: Check correct coupling during reassembly.
• Protection: Grease protects aluminum from corrosion especially at dissimilar metal contacts; Vaseline oil recommended for drum protection with 24-48 hour drying before cleaning.
• Frequency: Disassemble and service winches twice yearly under normal use—start and end of season.
• Old Grease Removal: Use solvent such as diesel fuel with brush and cloth to remove old grease before re-lubrication.

5. Warranty

• 3-year limited warranty covering defects in material and workmanship from purchase date.
• Exclusions: incorrect installation, improper application, overload, poor maintenance, corrosion, UV degradation, and normal wear.
• Warranty claims require product return to ANTAL; installation and shipping costs are not covered.

6. Power Unit and Controls

• Power units are sized per boat requirements and typically include electro valves (one per winch function), gear pump with reservoir, pressure gauge, and electric motors (1500-2000 W, 12-24 V, 160-180 A).
• Control box contains electromagnetic switches and fuses; connected to winch buttons via recommended 1.5-2.5 mm cables.
• Power units usually not supplied by ANTAL.
