It utilizes advanced Anschütz gyro technology, ensuring reliability, precision, and longevity for continuous operation. The device integrates modern microprocessor technology for intelligent, self-monitoring capabilities, making it adaptable to sophisticated navigation systems.

Specifications
- Precision: Response sensitivity of 0.1°/min and resolution of 0.3°/min.
- Power: Operates on 24 V DC with a power consumption of 800 mA, max 1200 mA.
- Temperature Range: Operational from -15°C to +55°C, storage from -25°C to +70°C.
- Signal Outputs: Analog and serial outputs with various configurations.
- Damping: Selectable time constants of 0, 3, 5, or 10 seconds.
- Protection: IP 65 for rate gyro, IP 23 for operator units.

Benefits
- Robust and reliable sensor based on professional gyro systems.
- Easy installation and maintenance-free operation.
- Modern soft key technique for operator interface.
- Galvanic separation from ship’s mains with pole reversal protection.
- Integrated monitoring, test, and damping functions.
- Compliance with BSH and IMO standards ensures future applicability.

Applications
The rate-of-turn indicator assists radar navigation by measuring and indicating the ship's swing. It is essential for vessels of 50,000 grt and more, as per IMO rules. It also serves in correcting doppler log equipment, controlling fin stabilizers, and rudder roll stabilizing.

Technical Data
- Weight: Indicator and control unit weigh 1.5 kg, 3.5 kg with casing; rate gyro weighs 2.3 kg.
- Environmental Compliance: Meets IEC Publication 945 and BSH rules for marine navigational equipment.

Rate-of-Turn Gyro-2

Raytheon Anschütz Rate-of-Turn Gyro The rate gyro is an aid for steering and manoeuvring of seagoing vessels. The gyro element is a component of the well-proven Anschütz gyro technology and thus a guarantee for reliability, precision and long life; developed for round-the-clock operation. The use of the most modern microprocessor technology for internal process and signal treatment makes the rate-of-turn indicator an intelligent, selfmonitoring sensor which can be integrated very flexibly into sophisticated navigation systems. The operator- and indicator unit with either 30°/min, ioo°/min or...

Tasks Areas of application The rate-of-turn indicator has the task of assisting radar navigation by measuring and indicating the swing (rate of turn) of the ship to port and starboard. In conjunction with course-keeping devices (autopilot) the rate gyro, as sensor system, provides the turning rate reference. On seagoing ships, the rate-of-turn indicator serves primarily as a navigating support for sensing and indicating swing. For seagoing vessels of 50,000 grt and more, an RoT indicator is required equipment. 24 V  DC • • • • • Correction link for doppler log equipment Control of fin stabilizers...
