System Architecture and Benefits
The NautoScan NX network radar transceivers offer significant advantages:
  • Redundant Gigabit LAN video distribution for enhanced flexibility and performance.
  • Elimination of coaxial cables and interswitch boxes, reducing installation complexity and cost.
  • State-of-the-art technology with built-in reliability and future-proof design.
  • Improved accessibility for simplified servicing and maintenance.
  • Modular product range with standard components like pedestal, antenna, and LAN.
Performance and Maintenance
The system is designed for maximum uptime and optimized cost of ownership:
  • Digital raw data distribution via LAN allows for greater flexibility and system design upgrades.
  • Master/slave concept for operational integrity across multiple workstations.
  • New pedestal and transceivers with reduced complexity for reliable operation.
  • Magnetron lifetime optimization through a new "sleep mode."
  • Continuous performance monitoring and early maintenance warnings.
  • Extended built-in tests and fault indicators for quick servicing.
System Integration
The radar system integrates with the Small Marine Computer (SMC) and NautoPlex for data collection and distribution:
  • Raw radar video is distributed to workstations via LAN.
  • NautoPlex collects data from serial attached sensors and distributes it to the SMC.
  • In systems with multiple workstations, additional NautoPlex units and switches are added.

LEAN SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE In a single radar system the new transceivers distribute the raw radar video via LAN to the Small Marine Computer (SMC), which is the standard for all workstations. At the same time, the NautoPlex collects data from all serial attached sensors and distributes the data to the SMC. In radar systems with two or more workstations, a second NautoPlex, a second switch and a respective number of SMCs is added to the system. Radar Transceiver For details about the radar systems and the radar software, please refer to the Synapsis NX Workstation brochure. Small Marine Computer...
