Working Principle
The filter processes oil from the lube oil sump through a strainer and full-flow filter elements, trapping solids before reaching the engine. A portion of filtered oil is used for backflushing, removing solids and recirculating them to the sump. The optional diversion chamber further filters backflushed oil.

Engine Protection
The filter is installed close to the engine to prevent solid particles from entering sensitive parts.

Working principle Overview The oil to be filtered is pumped from the lube oil sump through the filter and to the engine. When the oil reaches the filter, it first passes through a strainer located in the inlet body. This removes any large foreign particles, such as pieces of rags. Once past the strainer, the oil then passes through the fullflow filter elements, which trap solids, and onwards to the engine.
