Alfa Laval three-screw pump

Alfa Laval three-screw pump

Alfa Laval three-screw pump

Product catalog summary
Overview
The Alfa Laval ALP three-screw pumps are designed for reliability and low life cycle cost, optimized for mineral oil applications in marine and industrial settings.

Applications
The pumps are suitable for low-pressure applications such as fuel supply and circulation, oil transfer on ships, hydraulic systems, and lubricating oil circulation for cooling and separation.

Benefits
Key benefits include minimized life cycle cost, low maintenance, high quality, environmental friendliness, high volumetric and energy efficiency.

Design Features
The ALP pumps feature a compact design with few components, hardened pump screws for tight tolerances, and a shaft seal design that optimizes lubrication and air evacuation. The seal chamber prevents residue buildup, and a high-quality ball bearing reduces thermal impacts and maintenance needs.

Technical Data
  • Materials: Pump casing made of nodular graphite iron; screws of nitration-hardened steel.
  • Seal Faces: SiC/hard metal.
  • Port Connections: Flange SAE J 518/ISO 6162, PN16.
  • Motors: IEC metric standard, various pole configurations, IP55, insulation class ICLF, efficiency class IE2.

Operating Data
  • Max Inlet Pressure: 16 bar.
  • Max Discharge Pressure: 16 bar.
  • Temperature Range: -10°C to +155°C for mechanical sealed pumps, -10°C to +180°C for magnetic coupled pumps.
  • Viscosity: 1.4–10,000 cSt.

Pump Testing and Certification
Each pump is performance tested before leaving the factory. Certification is available upon request from various class societies.

Related Products
Includes connecting frames, change-over units, and service kits.

Capacity Tables
Detailed tables provide flow rates for mechanical and magnetic driven pumps at various viscosities and RPMs.

Dimensions
Dimensions are provided for different pump sizes and motor configurations.

Design ALP pumps are characterised by a compact design consisting of few components reducing complexity of the pump and easing the handling. Pump screws of hardened material enable tight internal tolerances ensuring stable pump capacity over time. The shaft seal design optimizes the lubrication of the seal faces and improves air evacuation, while the seal chamber is built to efficiently prevent building up of residue. This combined with the use of a high quality ball bearing, positioned outside the product zone, reduces the risk of thermal impacts and avoids exposure to the pumped liquid. Thus,...
