Regale 42 - 1

Regale 42 by Admiral Tecnomar Group and Luca Dini Design ne of the most apt ways of defining Admiral Tecnomar Group is certainly “completely made in Italy”. Both the group’s ownership and the location of the headquarters and production facilities are Italian. When planning the development of new product lines and the group’s expansion on the international market – as intended by Chairman and CEO Giovanni Costantino for the last three years – Admiral Tecnomar Group has also strongly focused on pursuing a clear Italian identity, including acquiring other brands to increase the group’s potential. This explicit strategy for the company’s image has been fully confirmed by the acquisition of the historic and highly prestigious Italian brand Admiral, which took place in November last year. This major commercial operation demonstrates the group’s constant commitment to continuing the substantial investments it has recently made, and it means that the group can now offer luxury motor yachts in two exclusive brands: the Tecnomar brand, featuring motor yachts built in composite with a planing hull, and the Admiral brand, featuring motor yachts built in aluminium for vessels with a planing hull, and in aluminium and steel for vessels with a displacement hull. Alongside these two brands, there is also the Tecnomar Sail brand, featuring sailing vessels. Within the new Admiral Tecnomar fleet, which has been completely renewed and progressively expanded over the last three years, the shipyard is due to officially present further new leisure vessel designs with lengths of up to 75 m / 246’0”, which will bring the numbers of the group fleet to a total of 29 different models by spring this year, subdivided into nine different lines. One of these is the brand-new Regale line under the Admiral brand, consisting of motor yachts built entirely in aluminium with a planing hull. To date, this line consists of four models: the entry-level Regale 33 with a length of 33.65 m / 110’5”, the mid-range Regale 37 with a length of 37 m / 121’5”, and the two flagships, the Regale 42 HT (hard top) and the Regale 42, both with a length of 42 m / 137’10”. In this issue of Yacht Première, we focus on the design of the Regale 42 model, in particular the first build of the yacht which is due to take to the water next year. O The main dimensional and technical data Based on naval architecture developed in-house by the Admiral Tecnomar Technical Office working with well-known international consultants, the new Regale 42 is being built in light aluminium alloy 5083. The build will comply with the classification standards of the ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) for A1 E Commercial Yachting Service AMS and the regulatory requirements of the MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) for LY2 Large Yacht Code, Unrestricted Service. In terms of size, the Regale 42 will have a length overall of 42 m / 137’10” and a beam overall of 8 m / 26’3”, while the maximum draught of the hull under full load will be 1.825 m / 6’0”. The motor yacht’s estimated displacement is 225 tonnes and the gross tonnage of the design is 315 GRT. The Regale 42’s engine room will contain two MTU V16 4000 M93 engines, each with maximum power of 4,185 BHP / 3,120 kW supplied at 2,100 rpm. The engine room will also contain two Kohler Marine 70 EFOZD generators, each supplying 70.0 kW / 87.5 kVA at 1,500 rpm. In terms of performance, the Regale 42 will have a top speed of 31 knots and will be able to maintain a cruising speed of 28 knots, with a range of 800 nautical miles. The hold of the motor yacht will contain fuel tanks with a capacity of 33,000 litres / 8,730 US gallons, and fresh water tanks with a capacity of 5,000 litres / 1,323 US gallons. 32
