what’s new DELTA ACHIEVES INVADER MILESTONE Largest composite superstructure of its kind Seattle-based Delta Marine has recently celebrated two important milestones in the construction of their 66m steel and composite megayacht known as Project Invader. Her steel hull was recently transported from Delta’s metal hull facility to the main assembly yard up the Duwamish waterway. The process took two days and involved placing the hull on a barge for transport via the waterway. At the main assembly yard, the 62-ton superstructure, measuring 138’ 8’’, was lifted onto the hull using three 550ton cranes within the high-bay assembly building. A perfect t achieved, nal t out and construction is ongoing with delivery due for 2013. Project Invader will feature expansive windows with minimal mullions thanks to the combination of composite materials, steel and aluminum used in the superstructure’s build. The Delta Design Group, utilising nite element analysis and its own advanced engineering, designed the components in-house. The 66m yacht will have an icestrengthened steel hull and a 43’ beam and 12’ 8’’ draft. Invader has expansive interior volume, generous fuel capacity, and enhanced ability to accommodate extended worldwide cruising. The yacht’s impressive size is balanced with tailored lines and classic proportions. Her composite superstructure allows for sculpted shapes and reduced maintenance. The yacht is being built to Lloyd’s Register and LY2. Her interior is the work of Diane Johnson Design along with Johnson, Wen, Mulder & Associates and her large windows are allied with high ceilings and grand foyers. The interior favours traditional classic yacht design with walnut burl and mahogany veneers, raised paneling, beamed overheads, and uted columns. Additional highlights include a theater, gym, expandable dining table for up to 20 guests with a 180° sliding doors and service pantries on each deck. The owner will occupy the entire upper deck with a forward facing stateroom, a private salon and ofce and the aft deck space. www.deltamarine.com Double sales for Admiral Tecnomar Management reshufe producing results Admiral Tecnomar Group, the Italian superyacht builder, has announced the sale of a 45m yacht, the rst in the new ‘Maxima’ series. Defying the generally negative economic news coming from Europe, Tecnomar sold a second yacht during the same week, a new 30m superyacht from their “Nadara” series, while three orders have been placed during the past two months to July. Built to ABS classication to a design by Luca Dini, the Maxima 45 will be delivered in the summer of 2014. ‘‘Selling three new Superyachts in two months, without trade-in, just conrms the huge progress we have made so far in terms of organization, professionalism and dealing with the right partners in the current marketplace,” said Francesco Carbone, Sales Director of Admiral Tecnomar Group. Admiral Tecnomar Group has a new management team with international and industrial background who turned the Group around and brought it back to protability.
