Soundac® Elastirail Flexible double walls and floating ceilings Description ® Soundac Elastirail is a vibration insulating rail, which is used to construct a floating ceiling or a flexible double wall. Plasterboard and an optional extra sound insulation is fixed to the ® Soundac Elastirail. ® Soundac Elastirail is a wooden rail with the vibration insulating Sylo® elast 3.0. The rail has predrilled holes and this makes assembly easy. ® The Sylo-elast fits in the pre-drilled holes and therefore assembly is quite straightforward. Application The rails can be finished with plasterboard. Between two layers of plasterboard an extra acoustic damping intermediate layer can be applied such as the ® Soundac TBAA8.0. This 2 is an 8 kg/m barrier mat. The Soundac Elastirail will be screwed down on the existing wall or ceiling. To ensure a firm construction a rail will be applied every 400 mm centre to centre. It is important that the top and lower side of the ® Soundac Elastirail as well as the plasterboard will never have any acoustical connection.
