May 2010 PRODUCT DATA SHEET SHIPSHAPE PRIMER-UNDERCOAT DESCRIPTION: A densely pigmented, 2 pack epoxy coating with excellent filling and adhesive properties. Produces a paint film with very good abrasion, chemical and solvent resistance. USES: As a primer and undercoat for timber, fibreglass, aluminum and concrete, as well as an undercoat over Norglass NORSHIELD ANTI-CORROSIVE PRIMER on steel surfaces, and all areas where Northane colours are to be applied. PROPERTIES (at 20°C) ° COLOUR: White TOXICITY: See Precautions FINISH: Low to semi-gloss COVERAGE: to 12sq.metres/mixed litre (subject to porosity and texture) DRYING TIME: Touch dry in 2 hours RECOATING: Spraying – wet on wet. Brush/roller – overnight POT LIFE: 8 hours MIXING RATIO: 3 parts base to 1 part hardener by volume THINNING: Spraying – 25% - 33⅓% Northane Spraying Thinners Brush/roller – 5% Norglass Epoxy Thinners WEIGHT/LITRE: 1.51kg when mixed VOLUME SOLIDS: 50% FLASH POINT: 27°C (SOLVENT) CLEAN UP: Norglass Epoxy Thinners or Northane Spraying Thinners UN NUMBER: 1263

Page 2 – Shipshape Primer-Undercoat PREPARATION: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, sanded and well prepared. APPLICATION: Mix 3 parts of Shipshape Base with 1 part Shipshape Hardener by volume, stir thoroughly and allow to stand for a further 10 minutes before using. Apply by brush roller, airless or conventional spray. Adjust Spraying Thinners according to the pressure system used or thin 25-33% at 50-70 psi.
