Good resistance to weathering, abrasion and chemicals. Recommended use: For use on new wood as well as on previously varnished wood, interior and exterior, above the waterline. Not recommended for carvel or clinker built wooden hulls. Product Data HEMPEL'S DIAMOND VARNISH 05140 SURFACE PREPARATION: Preparation: Always ensure all surfaces are clean, oil free and dry. Clean the surface and remove possible oil and grease with a suitable detergent and sand with dry abrasive paper. Carefully remove dust with fresh water. New wood: Sand and remove all dust. Saturate the dry, clean surface with suitable wood treatment, allow to dry. Plywood: Sand and remove all dust. Seal the dry clean surface with suitable wood sealer.
