POWERED BY INNOVATION The first exciting year with Gaastra is behind me; it was full of many new experiences and meeting great people I have been able to work with. The new designs I introduced for the 2012 season, Pure, Cosmic and Phantom proved very successful both in the feedback from the customers and in the magazine tests. For 2013 we prepared a full and clear range of products, developing further each single line. With such a big range of sails often it is not easy for the public to understand which is the right sail to choose so we will take advantage of this catalogue to explain it...

2 MAST CONCEPT MANIC, MANIC HD, IQ and CROSS use all sizes on 2 masts only!!! USE OF THE NEW 2-PLY LAMINATE ON MANIC, MANIC HD, POISON, IQ and CROSS. NEW 3D MAST PROTECTOR For maximum anti chafe and minimal weight. Manufactured from heat moulded EVA for best protection and less abrasion. The optimized shape covers all mast elements to protect the deck of the board from impact damages. Use of closed cell foam to offer maximum shock-absorbing and minimal weight without water absorption. NEW 3D MAST HEAD PROTECTOR Profiled hard plastic reinforcement to protect from abrasion to the head of the mast sleeve. This part is always subject to chafing on hard surfaces when you rig your sail.

In order to be able to reduce the weight of the sails we developed a completely new range of laminate materials, with a much thinner film supported by a double structure of fibers, a balanced scrim of fibers orientated in the warp and fill and a classic X-Ply angled series of fibers. From here the name 2-Ply. We created a complex woven web with the highest durability that is very light weight. The 2nd Generation provides a full Radial Panel Layout from all 3 corners of the sail, the seams are aligned with the forces that originate from the tack, clew and head to avoid deformations of the shape and design of the sail.
