W

ith its ability to sail comfortably with three orfour adults aboard, carry picnic supplies or camping gear, and sail in shallow water due to its kick up rudder and centerboard the Whitehall Spirit 17 delights everyone from the beginner to the most ardent sailor.

he rig sets up fast. The free standingmast is slipped into its socket, the mainsail raised bytensioning and cleating two halyards. If the jib is usedit is also hauled up, cleated and the sheets run. Thistakes under 5 minutes . The bronze kick-up centerboard is installed in afiberglass trunk located low in the hull.This centerboard will drop readily when released. The optional slide seat units mount over top of the centerboard trunk. Permanent or clip on motor pads are available. Some of the options available for the Expedition model can be added to this model as well. Check the next two pages and call for details if any of these interest you.
