The Original Parasail
THE WORLD'S FINEST PAR AS AI LS
The Waterbird® range of parasails are the result of aver 30 years of continuous development in the sport.
In 1969 Brian Gaskin began experimenting with ex-military parachutes , the design of these parachutes meant that they were far from ideal as parasails, they had after all been designed for free-fall and not as flying machines. Brian, decided the only way to achieve safe and reliable flight from a parachute was to design one exclusively for flight, the result; In late 1974 the Waterbird (16) was born, the first ever true parasail.
The design and construction of the Waterbird (16) were revolutionary, creating performance and stability not previously seen in this type of flying machine. With its exclusive use of a 1.5oz waterproof Rip Stop Nylon 6.6 Fabric it could be safely used in an over water environment.
The Waterbird design set the precedent for the parasail market as it exists today! This heritage and a program of continuous development have placed Watebird No.l in the world of commercial parasailing. Waterbird was, and continues to be, the worlds only purpose designed 16 gore parasail.
FACT:
All IB gore parasails are copies of the WaterbirdU design.
The Waterbird ® range has grown to become the most comprehensive available, with models ranging from our Extreme wind Sirocco 25ft up to the super heavy lifting Super Trade 46ft (which through revolutionary design are easier to launch from Winchboats without sacrificing flying performance), and includes parasails for the widest range of operating conditions. Our new parasail range with 8 new designs for the 2007 season have 35% less line pressure to the boat than conventional designs, allowing operators to fly larger parasails in higher wind speeds safely and enabling them to fly double or triple flights more often during their working day.
*For BOOV the WaterbirdSS range employs the use of Three different fabrics giving the customer unrivalled choice*
All fabrics are extensively tested and developed by Waterbird to meet the demands of commercial parasailing environments throughout the world. With our commitment to ongoing development, Waterbird parasails are as revolutionary today as they were in 1974!
