Typical Aluminum Properties Strong Enough? Yes. Aluminum is used in varied applications from airplanes to missiles and
toolboxes to soda cans. The reason for its varied uses is its attractive properties
- the most basic of which are its high strength, light weight and rust resistance.
Wedesign our
docks with an understanding of these and its other inherent
properties to deliver a dock that is completely suited to a continually changing
marine environment. Our docks are strong because we use a more sophisticat-
ed design than our peers and because we simply use more aluminum in our
docks. To complement our aluminum framing, we only use custom-made stain-
less steel fasteners to ensure that even the smallest components will not become
an eyesore or rust to the point of structural degradation.Spend time enjoying your dock, not maintaining it! >

1.Environments C1, C2, and C5 are progressively more corrosive atmospheres. The val-ues represent losses of mass over a one year period resulting from corrosion.2.As a result of Aluminums high thermal conductivity, it is remarkably cool to thetouch when used for flooring applications. 8a Aluminum is the ideal structural material for dock systems because of its uniquephysical properties. Structural Integrity Aluminum is an exceptionally strong material, similar in tensile strength to steel. The
key advantage of aluminum for water-born structures, however, is that because of its
rust resistance, aluminum will not experience structural degradation even after many
years in a marine environment. No Rust Aluminum will not rust and needs no protective coatings such as
marine primer, paint or stain.
As a result, our docks never need sanding, sealing, staining or painting. When used for
decking, our proprietary AridDek aluminum decking is splinter free, seamless, water-
proof, easy to clean and will not degrade for many, many years. Moreover, aluminum
rapidly transfers heat and is therefore cool to the touch, making it an ideal decking
material for areas of high sun exposure. >
