Gasoline big block

Nothing beats a V-8 gasoline big block for true operating plea- sure! The 8.1/DPS is a modern engine with electronic fuel injec- tion and electronic control for faster engine response and safe starting in all weather. A truly robust design and an advanced monitoring system ensures high reliability. The Duoprop drive with twin counter-rotating propellers delivers unbeatable acceleration and handling under all operating conditions. Power steering and trim are standard.

Engine
The 8.1/DPS is an electronic fuel in- ject ed 8.1 lit er gasoline engine in a V-8 con fi g u ra tion. This en gine is ide al for the sport per form ance seg ment in sin gle and twin applications. The en gine fea tures seawater cooling and a cast iron cy lin der block, cylinder heads and ex haust man i -folds that are spe cial ly de vel oped for the marine en vi ron ment. An easily ac ces sible sea wa ter pump is located in the front of the en gine. A canister type fuel fi l ter is also easily ac ces sible. The 8.1 is equip-ped with hy drau lic valve lift ers, which elim i nates the need for valve ad just ment. The crank shaft is sup port ed by fi ve four-bolt main bear ings for ex tra strength and smooth running. The ad vanced com bus tion system min i miz es noxious exhaust emissions and en hanc es over all enjoyment of boat ing. EVC/MC – Plug and go (option)
EVC Electronic Vessel Control is the lat-est development in instrumentation for marine engines. It offers a higher level of integration with your boat: speed, tank level, depth and surface water temp as well as an optional trip computer inte- grated into a uniform instrumentation. EVC makes boating easier offering new software options such as power trim as- sistant, a function that adjusts the power trim depending on engine rpm. EVC is scalable from a classic dashboard up to advanced driver information systems. The system is built on the latest automotive technology with waterproof connectors, so it’s just plug and go. Electrical system Fuel injection
The electrical system features a 12 V cor-rosion-protected marine elec tri cal system which meets the U.S. Coast Guard re- quirements. The en gine is wired for easy plug-in connection to the in stru ment panel. The engine elec tri cal system and the elec-tric hy drau lic power trim is protected by a 40 A circuit breaker and comes equipped with a 75 A al ter na tor. Full in stru men ta tion in clud ing trim gauge and wiring har ness (op tion on cer tain markets). The Multi Port Fuel Injection system is mon i tored by an Electronic Con trol Mod ule (ECM) and gives the fol low ing ad van tag es: more re spon sive and smooth er accelera-tion, excellent turn key starts in all weath er conditions, smooth re li a ble idling, re-duced fuel consumption, and im proved con trol of emis sions. Additional features built into the sys tem include: engine knock control for com- pen sa tion of less than perfect gaso line, over speed pro tec tion, rpm re duc tion of the en gine for low oil pres sure, high en- gine tem pera ture, and low voltage, plati-num tipped spark plugs for longer life and trou ble-free starts, al ti tude com pen sa tion for air den si ty, and self-diagnostic ca pa -bil i ties. Also, there are two fuel pumps for low and high pres sure respectively. Aquamatic sterndrive
The Duoprop drive with its twin coun ter-rotating propellers features ex haust out lets through the marine propeller hub and cav i ta tion plate producing a har mo ni ous drive unit with unbeatable char ac ter is tics in the boat in terms of speed, ac cel er a tion, steer ing, ma neu ver ing, fuel econo my and less noise and vi bra tion. The drive is equipped with a cone clutch for easy and smooth shifting, pattern- matched spiral bevel gears for op ti mum strength and minimum gear whine, a break-away shaft cou pling to prevent cost-ly drive train re pairs, and sacrifi cial zincs located both on the drive and transom shield. The drive is equipped with easily maneu- vered hydraulic power trim for ob tain ing the best running position at different sea and load conditions. A choice of stainless steel and alu- mi num propellers are available for dif fer ent ap pli ca tions. The 8.1 features standard pow er steer- ing for maximum driving comfort.
