Compact and reliable

The in-line four-cylinder 3.0GL is a compact and reliable gasoline marine engine for sport boats, walkarounds, leisure fi shing boats and many other types. Breakerless ignition system and hydraulic valve lifters give excel- lent reliability and low mainte- nance. A 3.0-liter displacement with high torque over the entire speed range is a perfect combi- nation for the SX single-marine propeller drive. The drive can easily be adapted for right (standard) or left-handed propellers.

Engine Technical description:

Compact and reliable in-line 4-cy lin der sea wa ter-cooled gaso line en gine with cast iron cy lin der boat block, head and ex- haust man i fold, spe cial ly developed for ma rine en vi ron ment. With a 3.0 lit er dis- place ment and high torque, the engine is ide al for single and twin app li cations. Virtually maintenance-free break er less ignition system. Eas i ly ac ces sible sea- wa ter pump lo cat ed in the front of the en gine. The 3.0GL en gines are equip-ped with hy drau lic valve lifters, which elim i nate the need of valve ad just ment. The crank shaft is sup port ed with fi ve main bear ings for ex tra strength and smooth run ning. Engine and block

Electrical system

– Pressure lubrication system with full-fl ow oil fi lter of spin-on type The electrical system features a 12 V corrosion-protected marine elec tri cal system which meets the U.S. Coast Guard requirements. The en gine is wired for easy plug-in con nec tion to the in stru ment pan el. The engine elec tri cal system and the elec tric hy drau lic power trim is pro tect ed by a 40 A cir cuit breaker and comes equipped with a 75 A al ter na tor. Full in stru men ta tion in clud ing trim gauge and wir ing har ness (op tion on cer tain mar kets).

Aquamatic sterndrive

The SX single propeller drive is of the most modern design featuring ex haust through the propeller hub and cavitation plate for quiet and ef fi cient operation, a cone clutch for easy and smooth shift- ing, pattern-matched spiral bev el gears for op ti mum strength and minimum gear whine, and a break-away shaft cou pling to pre vent costly drive train re pairs. The hydrodynamic design of the low er drive housing ensures ex cel lent course stability both at high speed and when maneuvering at low speeds and in re- verse. The drive is equipped with eas i ly maneu vered hy drau lic pow er trim for ob tain ing the best run ning po si tion at dif fer ent sea and load con di tions. For maximum corrosion pro tec tion the drive has gone through a 23 step paint proc ess and comes equipped with sac ri fi cial anodes both on the drive and transom shield. Either right- (standard) or left-hand ed pro pel lers can be used. A choice of stain less steel and alu mi num pro pel lers are available for dif fer ent ap pli ca tions. Fuel system
