Oily Water Separator(OWS) combines simplicity and reliability toproduce a fully automatic system that oper-ates continuously with virtually no mainte-nance.The VMT OWS utilizes permanent media - which isself cleaning through the flushing cycle - in aunique, two-pass design to produce effluent withexceptionally low oil levels. The separation processis as follows:•As the oily water first enters the largevolume pass chamber, its velocity slows dramati-cally. This reduction in speed allows the naturalseparation process and forces the vast majority ofoil out of the water. Prior to exiting the unit, theoily water passes through a second oil retentivepolishing chamber. Any residual oil will cling tothe polymer polishing beads, which possess an amazing affinity for oil.•When enough oil collects in the separator, clean water discharge is secured and a flush cycle is auto-matically initiated. When the flush cycle is complete the unit automatically resumes operation with absolute-
