Type of error 5 Thermal release of the electronics:if the refrigerator for boats has been overloaded or if the ambient temperature is too high. 4 Minimum engine speed: if the refrigerator has been overloaded, the engine cannot maintain the minimum speed of1800 revs/min 3 Engine starting error: If the rotor is blocked or if the differential pressure of the system is toohigh (>5 bar) 2 Ventilator for boat overcurrent: If the ventilator absorbs more than 1 Amp. peak 1* Battery protection: The battery voltage is outside the set values. Table 6.2.2NB *:If you have a digital box and the settings have been set as described in paragraph 3.6, the ‘battery protection’ block is controlled by the electric box and not the compressor electronics, and is therefore signalled by a flashing ‘POWER’ LED. Return to index7 - REPAIRS 7.2 - HUMIDITY IN THE REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT (see also 7.7) Please note that these indications are only valid if the unit has been installed as specified by us. If it has not,you must identify the differences and take them into account. 7.1 - THERMOSTAT CALIBRATION The thermostat is not a precision tool and the numbering of its scale is purely indicative. We suggest that youset it to –10 for a fridge plate (-11) and –20 for a freezer plate (-22). When set to these levels, the actual temperature may vary over time according to the position of the bulb and ambient temperature, vibration etc. Check the adjustment as follows: rotate the handle as far as possible (-30 in anti-clockwise direction); switch on the system. Tap the plate. If you hear a muffled sound instead of a tinny, metallic sound, rotate the handle in an anti-clockwise direction until the compressor stops. This is the right adjustment of the thermostat, regardless of the value shown on the handle. It is important to open the icebox has little as possible during the test, because the thermostat is sensitive to the ambient temperature and the calibration may be false, particularly for conservation cells with –22 plates. If this adjustment is impossible, even with the handle turned as far as it will go, because the compressor stops before the plate freezes, short-circuit the two thermostat contacts. If the plate then freezes as expected, the thermostat is defective and must be replaced. In the meantime, you can short-circuit the thermostat by short- circuiting terminals 2-3 (charter electric box) or terminals V+ and TE1 (digital electric box). 7.2.1 – VERIFIABLE SYMPTOMS Inside the coolant circuit, there must only be R134A gas and compressor lubricant for boat oil. Any other substance willeventually render the system inoperative. For this reason, all components of the system are carefully dried and placed in a high vacuum before entering R134A coolant gas. If humidity and impurities are present in the system during operation, this may cause ice to form with the consequent obstruction of the orifice of the thermostatic valve mounted on the holding plate and the interruption of the coolant circuit. As described in point 6.2.2.1, this will cause the low pressure switch (LP) to block the compressor. The unit can only start functioning normally again when the temperature of the thermostatic valve rises above 0°C, thus allowing the ice causing the obstruction to melt. Only when the valve is completely free of obstruction can operation be restored by switching on the system again, using the switch on the remote panel. After a period of regular use, however long, you can see that:A) The plate stops cooling and freezes; B) The thermostatic valve no longer gives off the normal hiss; C) The compressor becomes much hotter, until it is blocked by the electronics, even if the circulation of cooling water is normal. 14
