Return to index5 - MAINTENANCE average internal temperature of –12/-14°C. The unusual construction of the holding plate makes it impossible tomaintain lower temperatures. If it far better to have a holding plate slightly too large for the cell capacity. The minimum insulation required is 10cm, and should be made of foam polyurethane with vapour barrier. Avoid creating a thermal bridge to the exterior. To reach lower temperatures: A) Increase the distance between the plate and fixing wall. B) Install the plates in order to obtain better circulation of air. C) Install two plates of the maximum possible capacity, compatible with the cell size. D) Keep the surfaces of the plate free from ice or food. E) Place a grid with spacers on the bottom to improve air circulation. 5.1 – check the couplings between the cooling circuit and seawater regularly.5.2 – Check the status and possible corrosion of all parts, paying special attention to the metal parts of thequick couplings. Good maintenance over time will ensure that your cooler will have a long service life. After installing it, the couplings can be protected with thermo-retractable varnish for boat or tape.5.3 – If antifreeze treatment entails emptying the engine water circuit, you will also need to empty the coil of thecompressor’s cooling circuit.5.4 – Make sure you do not wet the compressor unit with seawater. If this happens, wash with fresh water anddry carefully. You can use antioxidant spray.5.5 – Replace the dehydrator filter at least once every two years to keep the system’s coolant clean.
