8) After a few operational cycles, the plate should maintain the refrigerator for boats temperature between +2 and+6°C (or –10/-15°C for a freezer compartment) for at least 12 hours after the compressor is switched off.If any of these tests fail, see chapter 6. Return to index4 – INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE 4.1 FIRST STEPS The FRIGOBOAT 2000 TWIN series cooler is designed to work for short periods (1-2 hours) when the servicebattery is charging from the alternator for boat (Charter box) or when its voltage is between the programmed values (Digital box). To operate the system, you need do the following: If you have an electric box mod. Charter 1) charge a battery from the alternator (12.7-14.7 V for 12V systems or 25.4-29.4 for 24V systems)2) switch on the ‘fridge’ switch on the boat for boat’s control panel for boat. 3) set the thermostat to –10°C or the timer to 60 minutes. If you have an electric box mod. Digital 1) Make sure the battery voltage falls between the Cut-in and Cut-out set values.2) Switch on the “fridge” switch on the boat’s control panel. Power the electric box by pressing theON/OFF button on the control panel.3) Set the thermostat to –10°C or the timer to 60 minutes. In these conditions, the pump and compressor will operate. The compressor, maintaining the services batterycharged, must operate until the holding plate is frozen. If the electric circuit is carried out according to our specifications, we recommend that you leave the ‘fridge’ switch on so that every time the services battery is recharged the system can operate automatically, always maintaining the plate at the maximum degree of accumulation. 4.2 ADJUSTING THE THERMOSTAT The A020300 thermostat must be set to -10°C for the fridge plate (-11) and -20°C for a freezer plate (-22). Seealso chapter 4.4. 4.5 - FREEZER CELL TEMPERATURE 4.3 ADJUSTING THE TIMER The timer does not operate automatically and must be ‘charged’ each time the services battery is charging. Inthis case, establish two or more operational periods in the 24 hours. 4.4 - REFRIGERATOR CELL TEMPERATURE The ideal temperature to preserve foodstuffs is between 2°C and 6°C. The Frigoboat 200 series cooler willmaintain this temperature for at least 12 hours without having to reinsert the compressor, if of the right size and installed correctly. If the cell temperature is higher than the ideal temperature approximately one hour after the thermostat has stopped the system, the causes may be that: A) The air cannot reach the plate in the cell. B) The plate is too small for the size of the cell. C) The cell is not sufficiently insulated. D) The condensation drain is open towards the well.To correct these problems:A) Use spacers to fix the plate B) Replace the plate with a larger one, or one more suited to the size of the cell C) Correcting insufficient insulation is obviously more laborious, but when you reach the recommended thickness (min. 5 cm for a fridge), you will achieve surprising results. D) Plug the drain or siphon the drain pipe. However, if the cell temperature falls below the ideal degree, do the following to bring it to the desired level: 1) partially isolate the plate’s surface. 2) decrease the amount of air that touches the plate using spacers. Systems with freezer holding plates (-22) let you create cells for the preservation of frozen foods with an 10
