Transas Navi-Radar 4000
In line with the trends in the development of new generation radars, Transas has developed the
Navi-Radar 4000 station, not only capable of displaying a radar picture, but also of performing
a number of additional functions.
Compliant with latest IMO and IEC standards, Navi-Radar 4000 performs all the func-
tions of radar and ARPA and can overlay electronic charts and AIS targets on a radar picture.
Navi-Radar can also be integrated with other Transas navigational products including both Navi-
Sailorand Navi-Conning systems.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS_
• Userfriendly, clear and logically
structured interface
• Handles primary radar information
• Acquires and processes ARPA tasks
(up to 256 targets)
• Displays AIS target on the radar dis-
play and targets parameters output
on the information panel
• Official ENC/S-57 and Transas TX-97
format electronic vector charts over-
lay features assist safe and conve-
nient navigation
• Displays routes loaded from external
systems' ECDIS/positioning system
• Associates AIS targets with ARPA
targets
AN INTUITIVE USER INTERFACE
The clear and logically structured user
Interface & menus incorporate a dedi-
cated Transas radar keyboard which to-
tally simplifies the navigator's work.
The keyboard uses a series of switches to
perform major functions and the most
commonly used tasks more efficiently.
Can connect up to 2 GPS, 2 GYRO and
2 LOG+1 DLOG
Configuration of 2 Radar stations
with SW scanner interswitch and
provides ability to change rights of
navigational Master (station with
rights for navdata sources)
Displays information from 2 targets
for data comparison
Fine adjustment of brilliance and
contrast for perfect radar picture
tuning
Flexible in both configuration and
chart functionality
The keyboard also incorporates PC com-
patible keyboard, functional keyboard
and a navigational trackball. All func-
tions are simple to find and perform,
giving you total control.

by AIS transponder connected to the
Navi-Radar
• Turns off the display of AIS target
data on screen and fully turns off AIS
Interface
• Dead reckoning of AIS targets by the
user set parameters
• Displays AIS target contour on the
scales commensurate with ship
dimensions.
The ARPA Functions
The ARPA functions have the following
benefits:
• Target extraction, acquisition and
tracking
• Automatic and manual selection of
targets for the display

standard
• Official ENC/S-57 chart display on a Radar picture expands
the radar functionality
Functionality and display of chart information:
• Chart information includes:
• coastline
• own ship safety contour
• dangers to navigation
• stationary and floating aids to navigation
• Ability to select required chart layers/information
• Chart information has no adverse effect on the radar picture

'I'm happy to recommend Transas Navi-Radar 4000. Our ferries are operating between Denmark
and Sweden in the Sound. Annually there are 65 000 ferry crossings and 45 000 north- and south-
bound crossings. As a Master, I would say it is a heavy traffic, that is why we chose the Navi-Radar
4000. Our ferries are double ended, which demands special requirements. Our requests were fully
met by the Transas software team, that brilliantly shows the flexibility of this equipment.'
