Frantz Timmerman. 1688Peter I in Holland. 1697 Timmerman Yachts continues a tradition of shipbuilding that datesback to the 17th century when Franz Timmerman (1644-1702) first
introduced Dutch boat building methods in Russia.
Timmerman is credited with convincing Peter the Great of both the
importance and the charm of maritime affairs and he was entrusted with the construction of great fleets of both naval and trading ves-sels. Together with the young Tsar he reconstructed the famous sailing Boatik at Kolomensky Palace not far from the present day
site of Moscow Shipyard, an event which marks the real beginning
of Russian maritime history. As well as forging links between two Great European
сountries, Franz Timmerman was also able to arrange for
Tsar Peter to study at the Amsterdam shipyards where the Tsar got his Certificate of Timmerman as a ship joiner.Timmerman Yachts continues this very successful Russian-Dutch partnership. Timmerman Yachts is a joint project of leading modern Russian and Dutch yacht builders includ-
ing: Vripack Yachting Intl, Guido de Groot Design, Ginton Naval Architects in Holland and Moscow Shipyard in Russia, with more than 1000 staff, most of whom were
trained also in Holland. The name of Franz Timmerman, co-founder of the Russian Navy, is honored in the title of this project. Our aim is to build the best motor yachts from the point of view of the ratio price-quality, combining in them the newest technologies of European yacht building with reli-ability of Russian ship-building, having military roots.
