ENGINEERING
MAIN ENGINES AND PROPULSION
Twin resiliently mounted diesel engines, close coupled to gear boxes via flexible couplings with handed reduction boxes driving via stainless steel propeller shafts running in stern glands with water lubricated bearing in shaft log and A brackets, both with water lubricated bearings
Engine monitors - electric type with digital displays at main and analogue type at flybridge - tachometer, volts, oil pressure, water temperature, oil and charge warning light, stop and start switches
Engines are fresh water cooled, with salt water cooled heat exchanger and water jacketed exhaust manifold engine and gear box oil coolers
Single lever electronic throttle and gear, with control heads at main and flybridge positions
Water injected exhaust system, with dual chamber silencers
Cleanable bronze sea water strainers to each engine
Four bladed handed turbine profile props in bronze, secured to propeller shafts by taper key and nuts
24volt electrics, negative earth
Hydraulic bow thruster
Trim tabs with indicator controls
STEERING SYSTEM
Twin station hand hydraulic steering with variable ratio helm units
Twin fabricated stainless steel rudders carried in lower and upper bearings complete with emergency tiller steering
All pipe work is in copper, except for the length between the check valves and the ram, which is in correctly rated hydraulic hose
FUEL SYSTEM
Twin aluminium fuel tanks complete with balance pipe, deck fillers and breathers, tank mounted sight gauges with fuel shut offs
Fuel system layout allows either engine to draw from either tank
Fuel pipe work to engine via filters with water traps
Fuel gauges at lower helm for wing tanks
ENGINE ROOM
Located under the wheelhouse sole, with large removable floor panels that give clear access for major service.
Natural ventilation through topside and superstructure grills, with natural and forced extraction systems, and full remote vent closures to seal engine room.

Heavy barrier coat hull insulation under aft accommodation compartment Flowcoat to bilge surfaces Aluminium chequer plate walkways
Aft access hatch provided behind the companionway stairs
Hinged hatch access in saloon floor on gas struts with s/s ladder below
Engine room extractor fans
Master battery switch
Colour coded wiring with multi-strand copper conductors
Additional AC overhead lighting
DOM ESTIC WATER GRP water tank aft, complete with deck filler, breathers, electronic level gauge and sight SYSTEM gauge
Hot water is heated by engine coupled calorifier with 240v immersion heater
Fresh water service lines (hot and cold)
Electric pressure pump and accumulator set
Water tank gauge in galley
