STANDARD HORIZON
The QUEST from STANDARD HORIZON-a new standard in DSC capable VHF at an economical price.
Qe^Yojce-
CLEARVOICE NOISE REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY D^iscDc™ „CH^^
The STANDARD HORIZON QUEST features an exceptional microphone that meets the same strict waterproof standards as the radio. The QUEST microphone includes STANDARD HORIZON's exclusive Clear-Voice Noise Reduction Technology, which eliminates unwanted background noises like engines and wind. The results are "Loud and Clear" transmissions that are heard and understood the first time. Handy buttons on the rubber armored microphone provide convenient access to channels 16 and 9 and also have UP/DOWN channel selection.
DIE-CAST CHASSIS MEANS RUGGED CONSTRUCTION WITH SUPERIOR
RECEIVER PERFORMANCE
The QUEST's receiver is carefully wrapped in an interference-reducing die-cast chassis. The result is uncompromising receiver sensitivity, selectivity and rejection in a rugged housing that will take the abuse while operating on a boat boat.
DIGITAL SELECTIVE CALLING
The QUEST meets the internationally recognized requirements for SC101 Digital Selective Calling. The DISTRESS function activates the unattended, continuous digital MAYDAY including vessel identification, Latitude/Longitude, and time. Additional DSC capabilities include the ability to send and receive ALL VESSELS, INDIVIDUAL and URGENCY CALLS. Finally, the QUEST is capable of responding to another vessels position request.
GPS FOR BOATS REPEATABILITY
When connected to a GPS position receiver, the Quest repeats latitude and longitude along with time and date on the radio display. This is an important convenience should it be necessary to communicate your vessels position in time of urgency.
SUBMERSIBLE
Building a submersible radio is no simple task! The QUEST is wrapped in a watertight case with conspicuous gasketing. The radio and all of its connections pass a rigid JIS standard for submersion. The result is a radio that will keep on talking even after a full drenching.
CHANNEL FUNCTION NAMES, NOAA WEATHER ALERT AND
FULL SCANNING CAPABILITIES
Don't know what a specific channel should be used for, the QUEST identifies on its huge display the function each channel is intended for. The main purpose for marine VHF is safety. Program the active weather channel into scan and the QUEST can intercept frequency-encoded regional emergency weather alerts to advise you of pending danger. In addition the QUEST is capable of monitoring one user selected channel with 16 priority (DUAL WATCH FOR BOAT) or scanning any number or combination of channels with or without a priority channel (SCAN, PRIORITY SCAN).
HUGE LCD
Visibility is no problem with an enormous LCD window with tall, wide digits and obvious information marine flags that are easy to identify. The LCD and keypad feature 3-step backlighting and 7 steps of LCD contrast adjustment.
