| | | The floats are made in moulds - ensuring a smooth surface - before four fixing bolts are cast into the top surface. This form of construction ensures permanent floatation, as the core material is a closed cell, absorbing water up to a maximum of 5% by volume. Solent Marine can also supply steel cages for further protection to the concrete floats if and when required. | | |
