The new Norwegian research vessel ”G.O.Sars III”is equipped with two independent drop keels,one with echo sounder transducers the other with multi beam echosounder transducers for hydrographic use.The drop keel reduces interference from air bubbles,increasing the performance and accuracy of the survey.The split beam multifrequency echo-sounders enable accurate measurement and improved potential for fish species identification.
