Dual beam The combination of hori-zontal and vertical beams,displays the school of fishfrom above and from theside at the same time. It isnot necessary to go overthe target to see the verti-cal distribution on theechosounder. Omni stabilizing The constant pitch and rollof the sea surface makes itextremely difficult to track a target perfectly. Simrad’s answer to this problem isOmni Stabilising: a systemthat allows the beam to stayon the target, independent of a vessel's movement. The Simrad sonars are tailor made for various types of fishery.The SP90 low frequency longrange sonar is optimized for searching for tuna. Sonar screen without, and with interference from other sonars in the area. The first long range omni directional sonar, the SR240, was introduced in 1989. This new technology gave better verticle views and much improved target defininition.
