The Operator unit is the "heart" of the Simrad PI44 Catch Monitoring System. In spite its modest physical size and simple installation, this unit will give you the current status of the trawl, purse seine or danish seine, as well as accurate echo sounder images of fish and bottom.

By means of the Simrad PI44 Operator unit you can read the data from six different sensors simultaneously. Several sensor types are available, such as depth, height, temperature, catch, rip, bottom contact and door spread.
The PI44 Operator unit provides you with a 10.4" colour display, as well as simple menu operation using dedicated buttons. On the inside we have supplied the advanced electronic hardware and software.
One important design condition was to create a system to be used on both small and large vessels. For this reason the Operator unit is small, and by means of the mounting bracket you can place it on a table, on the bulkhead, or below the deckhead. Using the mounting material included you can also flush mount the unit into a console.

The PI sensors are not developed for trawlers alone. They are just as valuable for those working with purse seine and danish seine.
Depth, temperature and bottom contact are valuable information for
seining too, and with the Simrad PI44 you have an efficient tool providing numerous opportunities.
Only a few buttons give you access and control over advanced features. The majority of the functions are controlled by direct access to the relevant menu.
